Where did you grow up?  I grew up in a mobile military family moving every few years. I was born in Iowa City and graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. A few fun places I have lived are Hawaii, New York, Germany and China.

What is your favorite thing about working at TCC? I really love the positive atmosphere. Everyone is encouraging and understanding so it is a great place to experiment and improve your skills.  I love the look of wonder and amazement when I tell someone who has never worked with clay before that they can get messy, loud and that it is ok. That look is just fantastic because they just come alive and let loose or look utterly terrified.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given as an artist?  Developing an advice filter and keeping an active sketchbook will do wonders for you as an artist. Advice is always readily available in the art world.  You have to decide whose advice is worth listening to, retaining and applicable to you and your work.
